It Is About You
Written and transcribed by Terry Grant
This is a continuation of a message I have edited and transcribed from a talk Ishvara gave on April 30, 2006. - TG.
Ishvara:
If you listen in silence to the truth of your being, you will know what you can do. Each one of you is different, each one is unique, so I can't tell you what to do. Even if I see what you should do, it would do no good to tell you. You have to dig deeply into yourself to get to the truth. The truth is not valuable if it is handed to you on a platter.
I know, the intellect says, "Oh, I will find it very valuable if you just give it to me." Yet, psychologically, people don't appreciate things that are free, do they? They take such things for granted, and don't think they are worth much. Isn't that funny? If it is being given away, it is not worth much. That is the psychology of human beings.
If a person spends $1,000 to go to a seminar, you can be sure that person will get something out of that seminar. On the other hand, if that person goes to a free seminar, the person is more likely not to get much from it. There is a psychological program that says there must be a return that is gained from a big expenditure, but something that is free does not offer much.
The world is full of that attitude. The condition, the hypnosis is that you have to work very hard to get what you want. You have to reach and reach and grab for it. Yet who says? There is nothing wrong with working hard. The question is: Why are you doing it? Are you doing it because you expect to get something from it? Or are you doing it because it is there to do? The difference is subtle.
You can work very hard to gain a spiritual awareness; you go here, you go there, you hear this teacher, you follow that method, you practice this discipline, you grasp, you grab, you cling to, you expect, you want, you desire. Yet you get nothing, because you already have it. It is a great psychological trick to make you think that somebody can give you what you already have.
That is true of the whole world, because the world operates that way. The world wants "peace." The world says, "Give me peace, give me hope; give me, give me, give me; keep me safe." That is the survival mechanism. However, true safety comes from within you, in the power of your knowing, keeping your frequency high enough to the point where you are not in the places where harmful things are happening. It is very simple: A higher frequency changes what is happening around you, or creates circumstances in which you just are not in the place where destructive things are taking place. It is strange how it works. I suppose that some day physicists may discover something about this frequency that I have been talking about for a long time. Someday they may be able to provide an explanation as to how it works.
It would be nice to have a gadget that would measure your frequency. The gadget could have a knob that would increase your frequency. If your frequency were too low, you could adjust the knob to turn it up.
I have an "invisible" gadget, and I am turning up your frequency. I'm sorry about the consequences, sorry about what happens after that! It won't be the same. When you realize that you have charge over your emotions, that you really have charge over the quality of your life, when you see that it is directly connected to your beliefs, you can never be the same.
If you don't believe you are worthy, the whole world will validate your belief. It really will. You will be slapped around all the time. But when you know you are worthy, when you know who you are, when you know you are the universe, that you are a unique expression of Life, that you are living potential, living possibilities waiting to happen, indeed happening--when you know that, you are invincible. No one else may realize you are invincible, but that doesn't matter. It's not about what they think, it is about you.
That is one of the most amazing things I see in Life: Life is about you. It really is about you. It is not about the "Other." It is not about your neighbor, it is not about your government, it is not about your church or your religion or your beliefs, your concepts, or your philosophy. It is about you. It is about the unique individual that you are as The Consciousness, as Life, as the universe. Life is about THAT "you."
